Gotta love a bargain!
These people are darn lucky that I have a sense of humor! Other moms might've been miffed to receive a damaged Mothers' Day gift -- even though they did walk away with this treasure for a song; just 15 bucks, to be exact, for an item that normally goes for $55.00. So, the handle bars broke off at some point; it's a planter and the jagged edges can be easily concealed by selecting the right plant.
I think they left the price tag attached in order to impress me with their clever shopping; filling the basket with chocolate truffles also helped.

That's awesome! And it looks so good with chocolate (but then, what doesn't?) :D
Oh well, since they put in the chocolate you might actually forgive them the price tag. LOL
I love presents that are both functional and make me laugh; they know me well :)
It also shows that they've picked up an important life lesson: The less paid for something, the more money left over for chocolate. ;)
More ideas to illuminate why you probably like your present so much . . .it's all in your head! ;-)
That sounds like such an interesting book, JJ. Maybe it'll also explain when my husband, just moments ago, fashioned handlebars for my bike/planter using leftover scraps of metal. He did a great job... but, (shhhh) I liked it better before :/ Maybe I'll seek out the healing power of (in my case) macaroni and cheese for comfort :)
Uh, forgot to proofread that last comment :) Ugh, it's a mess, I know! I'm blaming it on thoughts of mac & cheese :P
